WHAT IS BOSTON GREEN THUMBS?
Boston Green Thumbs (BGT) is a new skill-building training program for Boston residents who garden at home. Join us for weekends this April and go home with everything you need to know to get your urban garden growing.
For 10 years BNAN has trained Boston gardeners through the Master Urban Gardener programs, and is using that experience to design this exciting new training series. Boston Green Thumbs is an easy way to learn all the basics of home gardening whether you grow vegetables, ornamentals or both. Topics include:
WHEN? WHERE?
Boston Green Thumbs includes 20 hours of classroom instruction. Green Thumbs must attend all classroom sessions. The classes will be hosted at the Boston Natural Areas Network office, at 62 Summer Street in Downtown Boston, with field trips to nearby gardens.
BOSTON GREEN THUMBS IS FREE!
Instead of paying a fee, Green Thumbs give 20 hours of volunteer service to Boston’s gardening community. Through garden-based service projects, Green Thumbs get the chance to put their classroom knowledge into practice while giving back. A suggested $20 donation helps to cover the cost of program materials.
